Short Bio
Physicist specialised on semiconductor materials and opto-electronic devices, with 28-year research experience. Most of this corresponds to R&D on thin-film solar cells based on PECVD thin-film silicon. Experience on the development, set-up and use of material- and device-characterisation techniques.
The professional career includes a 1-year period at the European Space Agency and the participation of a high number of international R&D projects, most of them financed by the European Commission.
Co-ordinator of the European Network on Amorphous-Silicon Device Technology (aSiNet). Member of a number of expert committees for the evaluation of European-Commission-funded projects. Member of the Scientific Committee of a number of editions of the European Photovoltaic Solar-Energy Conference an co-chairman of the 6th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion.
Fluent use of French, English, German and Italian (mother tongue Spanish).
